Keith Troyer has been hired as the new head boys? basketball coach at West Holmes? High School.
Troyer, who previously coached in the Eastern part of Holmes County at Hiland, brings more than 10 years of coaching experience to the Knights and was chosen by a selection committee after reviewing and interviewing numerous applicants.
Troyer takes over for Jim Lindeman, who resigned in June after four years at the Knights? post and took them to the district finals in 2013 for a second consecutive season.
Troyer was coach at Hiland from 2000-2005 where he won 71 percent of the games (85-34). His best season was in 2002-2003 when the Hawks went 21-4.
He had the unenviable task of succeeding Perry Reese Jr., who passed away in 2000.
As a player at Hiland, Troyer was a first-team All-Ohioan and helped lead the Hawks to the state tournament in 1986. He is currently third on the all-time scoring list.
