Medical Society offers seminar on childhood obesity
Updated Tuesday, March 19, 2013 - 3:39pmMedical experts weigh in on the issue of childhood obesity in a free seminar Wednesday night.
The Medical Society of Delaware holds its third in a series of programs to promote the health and well being of Delaware's youth.
Society President, Dr. Stephen Kushner, says obesity needs to be addressed at an early age, since it can be a life long problem.
"Overweight adolescents have a 70-percent chance of becoming overweight adults, and this increases to 80-percent if those parents are overweight. So we really need to focus in on nutrition, good nutritional habits, and exercise," says Dr. Kushner.
